What Is The Difference Between Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, & Xeomin?
Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, and Xeomin are all neurotoxins derived from the Botulinum Toxin A used to correct aging skin effects. What makes all of these injectables a little different is their formulas. Each presents its own concentrations of active ingredients. Only Xeomin is referred to as ultra-pure because their procedure removes any unnecessary proteins. Currently, there are no studies to show whether extraneous proteins can cause any benefits or harm to patients. All four wrinkle relaxers are FDA-approved to treat frown lines between the eyebrows, but only Botox is FDA-approved to treat frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines. There are many “Off Label” uses for these neuromodulators. “Off Label” refers to other treatment areas that currently don’t have FDA approval. That doesn’t mean these treatments are unsafe, but rather, they haven’t completed the FDA approval process yet. Over time, some people will develop a tolerance to one injectable but may respond better to another.
